Product Description
1,4,7,10-Tetraoxa-cyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetate, also known as CAS No. 10377-51-2, is an organic self-condensing compound, which is an acetal derivative of 1, 4, 7, 10-tetraoxacyclododecane.
It is a white or almost white crystalline powder with a musty odor. CAS No. 10377-51-2 is insoluble in water but soluble in alcohol and other polar organic compounds. It also has excellent thermal and light stability.
CAS No. 10377-51-2 has various uses in industrial sectors such as the chemical industry. It is used as a condensation reagent for the preparation of esters, amides and other linkage structures, and an intermediate for the synthesis of drugs and other active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). It also has application as a plasticizer for polymers.
In addition, it can be used as a catalyst for several reactions, including polymerization, esterification and transesterification. CAS No. 10377-51-2 can also be used as a chain extender for polymers to modify their theoretical molecular weight. Its addition to enhanced lubricant formulations results in improved lubrication and decrease wear.
CAS No. 10377-51-2 provides significant cost savings relative to the traditional route of synthesizing esters and amides. It is also environmentally friendly, reducing the amount of toxic by-products generated during the synthesis process. Its non-tacky surface makes it a suitable choice as an additive in personal care products.
