CAS NO.7784-09-0 is a chemical compound known as Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin, and is an organochlorine compound. It has a high degree of toxicity, and is classified as a persistent organic pollutant by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. It is a yellow-orange crystalline solid, with a melting point of 177-182 °C and a boiling point of 371 °C.

Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin is primarily used as a pesticide, but can also be found in industrial processes such as the production of chlorinated organic compounds, pulp and paper bleaching, and the production of herbicides. In some cases, it can be a by-product in the production of chlorinated solvents.

Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin has a wide range of health effects, ranging from reproductive and developmental problems, to cancer. Exposure to the chemical has been linked to a number of health problems, including the development of cancer and birth defects, as well as liver, immune system, and respiratory damage.

The chemical can enter the environment through the release of smoke or vapors from industrial processes, or from the burning of contaminated materials. It can also enter the environment through the release of contaminated wastewater, or through the use of contaminated products.

Due to its high toxicity and potential for adverse health effects, there are strict regulations in place to limit the release of Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin into the environment. It is important to ensure that all industrial processes involving the use of this chemical are done in a safe manner, and that all waste is properly disposed of.
