CAS No. 7761-88-8 is a colorless, odorless and non-toxic liquid. It is a polyol compound with the chemical name 1,1,1-trimethylolpropane. It is a versatile and important intermediate for the production of polyurethane, polyester and epoxy resins.


1,1,1-trimethylolpropane is used in the manufacture of polyurethanes and polyester resins. In polyurethane production, it is used to prepare polyol blends for the production of a variety of rigid and flexible foam products. In polyester resin production, it is used to make polyesters, epoxy resins, and other synthetic materials. It is also used in the manufacture of plasticizers, lubricants and surfactants.


1,1,1-trimethylolpropane is a non-flammable and combustible liquid with a flash point of 100°F. It is moderately soluble in water and miscible with most organic solvents such as alcohols, ketones, esters, and aromatic hydrocarbons. It is stable under normal storage and handling conditions and is compatible with many common industrial materials.


1,1,1-trimethylolpropane is an important starting material in the production of polyurethane, polyester, and epoxy resins. It is used in the manufacture of adhesives, sealants, coatings, elastomers, and foams. It is also used as a stabilizer and surfactant in a variety of industrial applications.
