2-Chloroethyl Vinyl Ether, also known by its CAS number 775-56-4, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C3H5ClO. It is a colourless liquid with a boiling point of 98°C and a flash point of 11°C.
2-Chloroethyl Vinyl Ether is used as a raw material in the production of 2-chloroethyl vinyl ether-dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) copolymer, which is a key intermediate for the production of paints, adhesives, coatings and other products. It can also be used as a solvent for various organic compounds and as an intermediate for the production of 2-chloroethyl vinyl ether-methyl acrylate copolymer.
2-Chloroethyl Vinyl Ether is also used in the production of pharmaceuticals, such as anti-cancer drugs and anti-inflammatory agents, as well as in the manufacture of surfactants and detergents.
The product is highly flammable and should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from sources of ignition. It should also be kept away from direct sunlight and heat.
