Product Description:
Tetrakis (2-ethylhexyl) phosphite(CAS No. 24801-88-5) is a clear, light yellow liquid with a faint, pleasant odor. It is a phosphite ester which is used as an antioxidant and UV light stabilizer. It is insoluble in water, and miscible with most organic solvents.
Tetrakis (2-ethylhexyl) phosphite is an important additive in the production of polymers and plastics, and provides protection against the effects of ultraviolet light, oxygen and other environmental factors. It is also used in lubricants and other specialty products.
Tetrakis (2-ethylhexyl) phosphite is used to inhibit oxidation in a range of polymers and plastics, including polyolefins, polyamides and polyurethanes. It can be used as a co-stabilizer with other phosphites, such as tris(2,4-di-t-butylphenyl) phosphite, to protect polymers from oxidative degradation.
In lubricants, tetrakis (2-ethylhexyl) phosphite can act as a corrosion inhibitor and viscosity stabilizer. It is also used as an additive in other specialty products, such as rubber, adhesives, sealants, coatings, and inks.
Tetrakis (2-ethylhexyl) phosphite is highly effective at low concentrations, and is safe to use in most applications. It has excellent thermal stability, and is not known to produce any volatile organic compounds. It is also non-flammable and non-toxic, and is approved for use in food packaging applications.
