Methyl Chloroformate (CAS No: 14871-92-2) is a colorless, odorless and non-volatile organic compound used in organic synthesis and in the production of pharmaceuticals, dyes, and agrochemicals. It is an alkylating agent, forming esters and amides with alcohols and amines. Due to its excellent reactivity, it is widely used as a reagent in the synthesis of a variety of compounds, such as peptides, halogenated amines and pharmaceuticals.

Methyl Chloroformate has a wide range of applications in the petrochemical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. As a reagent in organic syntheses, it is used to produce esters, amides and carbamates. It is also used as a catalyst for the synthesis of aryl and alkyl halides in the production of dyes and agrochemicals. Additionally, it is used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, such as analgesics and anti-infectives.

Methyl Chloroformate is a highly toxic and corrosive chemical which requires special handling precautions. It is an irritant to skin and eyes, and can cause severe burns if it comes in contact with tissue. In addition, it is highly flammable and must be stored and handled in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from any sources of ignition.
