5H-[1]benzothieno[3,2-c]carbazole (CBZS)

5H-[1]benzothieno[3,2-c]carbazole (CBZS) is a new type of high-performance organic semiconductor material. It has a wide range of potential applications in the field of optoelectronic devices, such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs) and organic thin film transistors (OTFTs).

CBZS has an extended conjugated structure composed of two benzothieno[3,2-c]carbazole moieties connected by a thienyl bridge. This extended conjugated structure gives CBZS excellent electronic properties such as high electron mobility, strong electron affinity, and good solubility in organic solvents. It also has a high absorption coefficient, which is favorable for the absorption of light.

In addition, CBZS is a novel non-fullerene electron acceptor material, which has excellent compatibility with polymer and small molecule donors. It has been used as an electron acceptor material in organic solar cells and organic field-effect transistors, showing excellent device performance. The power conversion efficiency of organic solar cells using CBZS as the electron acceptor material can reach up to 6.3%.

CBZS has also been used as an electron transport material in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). OLEDs made with CBZS as the electron transport material have shown high luminance and efficiency. The luminance of the OLEDs can reach up to 10,000 cd/m2, and the external quantum efficiency can reach up to 15%. In addition, the stability of the OLEDs is also excellent. The device can maintain more than 80% of its initial brightness after 1000 hours of operation.

In addition to its excellent electronic properties, CBZS also has good thermal stability. The thermal decomposition temperature of CBZS is above 280°C, which is much higher than other organic semiconductor materials. This makes CBZS an ideal material for the fabrication of high-performance optoelectronic devices.

In summary, 5H-[1]benzothieno[3,2-c]carbazole (CBZS) is a new type of high-performance organic semiconductor material. It has excellent electronic properties, good solubility in organic solvents, high absorption coefficient, and excellent thermal stability. These properties make CBZS an ideal material for the fabrication of high-performance optoelectronic devices such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs) and organic thin film transistors (OTFTs).
