9,9'-spirobifluorene-4-yl pinacol boronic ester (SBFPE) is a useful intermediate in organic synthesis. It is a symmetric boronic ester which has a spirobifluorene core. SBFPE has been used in various pharmaceutical and agrochemical research applications.


SBFPE has a molecular formula of C17H19BO2 and a molecular weight of 282.18 g/mol. It is a white to light brown solid with a melting point of 91-93 ºC. It is soluble in common organic solvents such as dichloromethane, chloroform, toluene and tetrahydrofuran.
